A successful hunt

I managed to get my hands (or fangs, or whatever you prefer...) on the two next books in the Twilight saga: "New Moon" and "Eclipse". I literally gasped and ran to the shelves when I saw them, clutching them to my chest and grinning like an idiot. Never mind that the back of the books were a bit worn (paperback). I had to know what happened. Now. The third book, "Breaking Dawn", isn't coming to Japan until January. Which sucks, since I've almost finished reading "New Moon"... in one day.

The movie will be in theaters at November 21st. Maybe I can see it here, if they don't decide to dub it... Ugh. From watching the trailer I can already tell that it will not be the same as the book - but I think it'll be a great movie nevertheless. Want. to. see. *_*

In short, I'm in love with the series. "Resistance is useless." And I'm afraid I'll finish it way to soon, which will send me out on a new hunt for more fantasy. (Kiyu, I'm looking at you. ;) ) Inheritance? Darren Shan? Artemis Fowl? Or I might try another book by Dan Brown... Just give me books!

I think I understand a vampire's thirst now. Only mine's got nothing to do with blood.

Mom, dad... if I may: Can I please, please, please have the series in hardback? Pretty please with sugar and honey on top? Oh, and like... fifteen new bookshelves to put all my books in?

On a completely different, vampire-free note: I joined the kyudo club! I'll start practice next week. Weee!
The chorus concert (Harmony Family Chorus, the one I've joined with okaasan and Momo) is tomorrow... and I went to the most fantastic park with Francesco the other day. I'll post a blog once I'm..eh... finished reading.

Location: Forks
Mood: tense "what happens next??"
Reading: "New Moon" by Stephenie Meyer
Watching: the Twilight trailer
Drinking: ...blood?

MY MISSION IS A SUCCESS! BWAHAHA! *huge grin*
Oh and I highly recommend the three series you mentioned! They're all favorites of mine :D You MUST read at least one of them, because I am so tired of not having anyone to discuss them with! And I can't blog about them either, because that would be spoilering and people wouldn't understand the heck of what I was babbling on about xD Especially Inheritance and Artemis Fowl. I read Darren Shan quite a few years ago so I've already had my fill I think.

Oh, and Kyudo. It's totally different from the 'official' archery. The Japanese practice their own traditional style, so any tips from us 'western' archers would render useless :P

If we win in vikinglotto, I will build us a home library...
Kyudo and family chorus AND swimming - busy girl!

Mom: Yes, and a swimming pool! :D Eheheheheeee!

Kiyu: I would like some just the same! It would be fun to know some of the differences! Oh, and I'll beg you to try your bow someday. Just so you're prepared. ;)

HAHAHA!! I knew it!!! You have become Smitten/bitten by the twilight bug!! HAHA! Welcome to the gang!! XD
It is so addictive, you just seem so helpless and so now that you have read the book....which team are you on...or which do you prefer. Team Edward, Team Jacob or Team Switzerland?? ( Just curious ;P)
But if I may recomend some books as well; His dark materials ( unless you have read them ) and The Host by stephenie meyer is also VERY good. And a series by Rachel Caine ( involving vampires, but not in the same light as Twilight ofcourse ) The first one is called: Glass House.
You are now officially a newborn vampire ( fan ). Congratz!! XD

Of course I've read "His Dark Materials"! (Haha, my fingers slipped and spelled "His Darn Materials" XD) It's one of my all-time favourite series! I desperately want a daemon and Lyra's the reason I write "veit" instead of "vet". (I first read them in Norwegian, then later bought them in English as well, although I haven't read the series through in English yet. I will! :D) I read about "The Host" on Meyer's home page - I'm curios to check it out.

I'd be a Team Edward girl. "Me? I'm with the vampires!" Although he's kind, I don't really like Jacob all that much. He's a little to preconceived when it comes to vampires, I think. Billy, on the other hand, sounds like a person I'd like to meet and spend hours talking with. So I like him!
What about you? Edward, Jacob or Switzerland?

"You are now officially a newborn vampire ( fan ). Congratz!! XD"
Haha, thank you! XD If there's no update for more than three days... well, you know why.

Knert, jeg tenkte for meg selv "kunne vært kult om hun sendte meg serien når hun var ferdig med dem" - men så slo det meg.

Nuff: Haha, I can't read that much either! But - rejoice! Twilight was written in English! Although it's pretty heavy to send, so I'm not sure. Anyway I will lend them to you as soon as I come home next year, that is a promise! :)

I'll see. :)

*euforisk*

Me? I am on Team Edward ofcourse!!! As stated before countless of times: for Eward chivalry is not a pick-up line it's a state of mind <3
No but seriously when it comes to who i think bella should be with (forever) it is definetley Edward no doubt, but i still like jacob, he is just so funny and goofy and lovable, but i admit that in that scene in eclipse when he kisses her and when she resists he thinks it's because she wants more:....... I SWEAR, I could have jumped into the book and soccer punched him in the face, gut and groin making sure he could never reproduce AGAIN!
PS: if anyone asks about me from the rotary I am then reffered to as Anne.L not lutten XP

What's up with Twilight-crazyness??

I read (hvorfor are we all writing in English?) the first book and my opinion was: catches you, easy to read, and mad full of underlying sexual tension.
But the relationship between Edward and Emma is not good for anyone, especially not for all the teenage girls reading these series thinking that's the way a normal relationship should be. It teaches them that Bella is a boring whiner with no personality and all she does is follow Edward around like a dog, she has no life without him(!) and he wants to control her to a disturbing extent.

I know this will cause a lot of Twilight-defense, and I HAVEN'T read the other books, so I really have no clue. Just throwing my two cents in. If you like vampires, try out the Southern Vampire Series by Charlaine Harris (they came before the Twilight-series), they even made that one into an Alan Ball series on HBO.

...Emma? :P

No, I understand what you mean. I love the books - I can't wait to read the next! Yes, it really catches you. Still, it doesn't mean they're the greatest books I've ever read. I still think I like His Dark Materials better.

I know what you mean about the language too. I thought of it when I started reading the series. (I commented some of it to you, Kiyu. About the "alright, I get it - he's handsome". If you want to describe him, don't tell me again how he's like a handsome marble statue. I got it. There are other books where I've been wowed by the way the author expresses him/herself. That was not the case with Twilight.

Bella does seem quite...helpless on her own after having met Edward. She's strong for the people she loves, though... I like that. But as for me, I prefer this phrase: "never make someone your everything, because when they're gone you'll have nothing".

Alan Ball! As in Six Feet Under! <3 Oh, I must read... and watch! (I suspect I must have a huge thing for vampires...?)

So, loong comment short: I won't behead you. Although I like the series, I see your points. :)

Darren Shan! I love those books. <3 They're pretty easily read, though. Short and not the most complicated language. They are intended for young teenagers after all. But I find them really interesting and exciting nevertheless. :3
