Another thing I've started doing, which is a great help, is to print out pictures of various cosplays I want to make and put them in a small cosplay-book I carry around with me. It's great to have when I'm going to flea markets, since I can look at it for reference. Humans have trouble remembering colours. Since I'm a cosplay freak, I usually need to have the exact hue of the colour for a costume. So I tend to use my book a lot. I love flea markets, they have all kinds of things I can use! Especially shoes, which is a pain to find, and especially if they belong to Franziska von Karma aka. Mei Karuma. >.<
I'm also working on a cosplay of Anna Kuyoyama from Shaman King. I found a black velvet dress at Fretex (secondhand shop), red fabric and black sandals at a flea market and bought a plastic pearl necklace. The rest of the necklace I made myself. The dress needs a bit of customizing, but I think this is a fairly easy cosplay. Which is good, since I don't have time to do all the advanced and complicated cosplays I want to do before leaving for Japan. I guess they'll have to wait. :P

kept braking when I fastened them to the metal part.

The orange on her pin is mixed with gold paint to give it a nice shimmer. <3

Excuse me~
But what did you use to make the accessories for Franny?
I'm planning on making a Franny cosplay myself, and I want as much help as possible! ^^
Franny cosplays seem like a lot of fun! I'll even have a Gumshoe to torment, haha! XD Cant wait to get started on her once I return from my exchange...
I used paper clay. I should think you'd be able to find it in most art shops. It's quite easy to work with, you can air dry it, it gets a nice, hard finish and it's easy to paint once dried. You can file it a bit too, I think. In other words - great for cosplay!
Good luck! It would be fun to see pictures of the costume in progress - and I'd love to see the final result! Onegai? m(O o O)m
Hello!
i heard your doing a Anna Kyoyama cosplay...
GOOD FOR YOU!!
im working on one too....
and i was wondering if you knew any good stores that sold wooden beads that icould paint.
i have found many and they are always WAY oversised and have a coat on them that i cant paint over....
any help?
the necklace you made was awesome!
and i have one just like it.
If you have one just like it, I don't think you'll need to find and paint any wooden pearls. (I had the same problem as you! -_-;) What I did was I made the golden thing out of paper clay (the same as Franziska's buttons) and painted it. Then I made the red tuft out of thread that I brushed so that it'd be more fluffy. I put the golden pearl over the tuft and fastened the tuft to the necklace with golden metal thread.
Good luck!
